About
About My Bitwarden
My Bitwarden is an independent editorial site providing download links and guides for the Bitwarden open-source password manager. We are not Bitwarden, Inc. and have no affiliation with them.
What this site is
A curated download portal and editorial coverage of Bitwarden. We:
- Aggregate official download links for every Bitwarden client across Windows, macOS, Linux, browsers, mobile, and CLI.
- Redirect users to the actual signed release artifacts on GitHub, the Microsoft Store, the Chrome Web Store, the App Store, and other official sources. We never modify installers.
- Publish guides on installation, migration from competitors, security configuration, and self-hosting.
- Compare Bitwarden to other password managers — LastPass, 1Password, Dashlane, KeePass — with honest assessments.
What this site is not
- Not Bitwarden, Inc. Bitwarden is a registered trademark of Bitwarden, Inc. We are not affiliated, sponsored, or endorsed by them.
- Not a phishing site. We never collect credentials, never ask for master passwords, never display login forms claiming to be Bitwarden.
- Not a paid advertising property for Bitwarden. Bitwarden has no affiliate program. We earn nothing per Bitwarden installation referred.
- Not a code-modifying mirror. Every download routes to official signed releases.
How we make money
This site runs display ads via standard ad networks. When we compare Bitwarden to alternatives that do have affiliate programs (1Password, Dashlane, NordPass), we link to those affiliates — these links are disclosed in context. We don't earn anything from Bitwarden installs themselves; the editorial coverage is what supports the site.
Our editorial standards
- Accurate over flattering. We document Bitwarden's weaknesses (UI polish gap vs 1Password, Manifest V3 transition issues in 2024, Linux UX limitations) alongside its strengths.
- Sourced. Technical claims link to Bitwarden's official documentation, audit reports, GitHub source, and reputable third-party coverage.
- Updated. Major posts list a "reviewed" date — we revisit when Bitwarden releases significant updates.
- Self-tested. Migration guides, install walkthroughs, and tutorials are written from actual experience.
